These two i-Docs 2018 presentations approach materiality and place from different directions – one explores the connection between intangible media experiences and physical objects or installations, and the other wonders how these intangible yet immersive experiences might allow us to visit places that no longer have a material element, and exist only in the past and in memory.
Captured at i-Docs in March, the first presentation is by Mike Robbins and Harmke Heezen of High Road Productions, titled, ‘Rematerialism: About the importance of being there – an exploration of digital installations in physical surroundings’. The second is by artist Sophie Dixon – ‘Giving Presence to the Past.’
