No i-Docs conference this year, but lots of Labs!

Yes, it is official, no conference this year, no illuminating talks and friendly drinks at the Watershed this March in Bristol… We have decided to take a pause, after two very successful i-Docs, and reconsider what to do next, and how to do it.

The good news: we will be back soon. We are looking at ways to make i-Docs more international, to involve its community in its making, and maybe even to transform it into a travelling event. But for now we are in a developing phase… so feel free to contact us if you have suggestions, money or time to help us!

The second good news: since we do not have the conference this year, we have developed an i-Docs Lab (a 1hr, 1/2 day or full day workshop) to spread the word about i-docs in festivals, conferences or corporate training sessions.  You can learn more about it here.

Our first i-Docs Lab was held in Bristol this past Wednesday and went extremely well. As part of the BBC Digital Bristol week, the i-Docs team did an introduction to the field that you can explore here. Note that we have delivered the whole presentation using Zeega!!! This is an i-doc about i-docs!!! We have to thank our very  magic Jess for that, as it has been tricky at times! The event was filmed by the BBC, so if they ever decided to stream it we will let you know.

So that was all for the update. I have noticed that our Facebook community has been particularly active lately. This is wonderful!!! So much useful information is circulating thanks to you all. Now be brave and start blogging too! If you are producing, testing or just working on an i-doc we want to know about you and about your ideas. If you have an interview, a paper or just a blog post to share do contact us at idocsinteractive@gmail.com (or through our FB group) and we will happily upload it.

So for now, happy i-docsing to you all!
