interDocsBarcelona 2015

interDocsBarcelona is an initiative which started in 2013 to encourage interactive and transmedia documentary as a section of DocsBarcelona International Festival. Each year DocsBarcelona gathers more than 400 professionals from over 30 countries, amongst them commissioning editors, directors, producers, film funds, distributors and sales agents, festivals, markets and cultural institutions.

After the two first years of this journey hosting a conference, an exhibition, a marathon of prototypes, a meet-up and project presentations, at DocsBarcelona we believe it’s time to start creating our own culture of interactive and transmedia documentaries, a way of doings things that is distinct to Latin and European countries, with its own traits and unique point of view. This year interDocsBarcelona consists of the following activities:

  • interDocsBarcelona Conference: focused on the international sphere, with talks on transmedia creation and storytelling, and significant case studies. It will also present a series of projects, experiences and initiatives.
  • Interactive Pitch: a presentation of interactive projects looking for financing
  • Popathon: intensive workshop to produce interactive documentary prototypes
  • Interactive screening: a festival screening of an interactive documentary. This year will screen “Las SinSombrero” directed by Tania Balló, Serrana Torres and Manuel Jimenez Nunez.

d) Interactive screening

We all know the Generation of ’27 in Spain and its most relevant figures: Dalí, Buñuel, etc. But why are there no female names on that list? Were women not allowed to be artists back then? Nothing could be further from the truth. Along with the male members, a group of hugely talented women existed, created and were successful. They too were at the centre of a few years of creative explosion and freedom that transformed Spain’s history forever. This film portrait recovers the memory and legacy of these women who were essential figures in the cultural history of a country that never acknowledged them.

Bristol

Las Sinsombrero was presented as a project in development at last i-Docs Conference on March 2014 in Bristol.

All the information here: http://www.docsbarcelona.com/en/doc/las-sinsombrero/
